EWC on tour at Ballathie House, Perthshire

Hello

Edinburgh Watch Company was kindly invited to join a “cars and coffee” meeting at the beautiful Ballathie House Hotel which is just north of Perth.

The “cars and coffee” is a social gathering organised by a customer of EWC that brings great people and great cars together normally for 2/3 hours. Last month Lamborghini Edinburgh hosted a similar event and these are becoming more and more popular. It provides a great environment to share a mutual passion in sportcars, the opportunity to meet new people and normally way exceed any calorie diet with bacon rolls or cakes!

Having just received a new EWC pop up banner from Impact Signs Scotland and a new watch display cabinet from Cabinets and Showcases Limited we set up our display of beautiful watches.

During the morning/afternoon there were almost 80 guests who turned up in a selction of wonderful cars including a vintage Jaguar SS1 that the owner has fully restored himself and will soon be exhibiting it at the very prestigious Pebble Beach event in the USA.

The organiser had another special treat instore which was a Bell R44 helicopter. This would no doubt have a been a highlight of the day for the various kids and adults that took to the air. One very good friend and ambassador of EWC was celebrating his twelfth anniversary and arranged a personal flight which was very special for his wife, to top it all she was also presented with a new Dyson hoover! Now that sets the standard for us gents!

EWC’s director Jonathan Gilbert and the event organiser Mark Ryan have recently discussed how we can work together to raise valuable funds for his charity. Building on a Facebook event where EWC raised £750 last month for SCCA it was agreed that in addition to a special discount for guests EWC will make a donation to Scottish Charitable Air Ambulance charity for each sale to the “cars and coffee” guests.

Here are some snaps kindly provided by motorsport photographer Forrest Hamilton for you to enjoy…except perhaps for the one of myself!

Jonathan
