We are delighted to have been invited to join the celebration of 70 years of Ferrari this weekend at our local race circuit.
This will be a great day out for sports car enthusiasts that love this iconic Italian brand. With over 100 Ferrari’s attending there will be lots for visitors to see along with track day action it is one of the prime motoring events this season.
The Ferrari Owners’ Club 50th Anniversary celebrations will mainly take place on Saturday 13th May. The track action will start at 9am with Ferrari Owners’ Club track day sessions, and for the first time ever, the FOC Track Day will be complimented by our star addition of the weekend the Pirelli Ferrari formula classic Series. This super race series will see practice, qualifying and one race taking place on the day. The racers will be staying with us for the entire weekend – embarking on a triple-header of races with two further races taking place on Sunday 14th May as part of Round 2 of the Super Lap Scotland Championship event.
Saturday will see one of the biggest Ferrari Owners’ Club gatherings ever seen in Scotland in tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Club, which coincides with the 70th anniversary of the iconic brand. As well as seeing a number of Ferrari owner’s on track in a vast array of stunning Ferrari machinery, during parades and track day sessions, we’ll also see packed paddocks full of the incredible Ferrari cars from all eras.
We are all excited about this event and expect it to be one of the highlights on the 2017 Knockhill calendar. To have an event solely focused on one of the foremost supercar manufacturers in the world will surely attract fans from all over the country to Knockhill for the celebratory weekend.
What is the Ferrari Owners’ Club Festival event
The 50th Anniversary of the Ferrari Owners’ Club event is a Ferrari race day, Ferrari car track day and show – all in one – celebrating the joint landmark anniversaries of 70 years of Ferrari cars and the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari Owners’ Club (FOC). It is expected to be one of the biggest events in the UK in 2017 to celebrate this legendary marque, additionally, Ferrari will also have a number of official global events to mark their 70th year.
Is this event specifically for Ferraris?
Yes! Ferraris of all ages, from the earliest road cars through to the very latest 2017 models will be on show, on track, and the Pirelli Ferrari formula classic Series will be testing, qualifying and having their first of three races during the Ferrari only track day on Saturday 13th May. On Sunday 14th May, the Pirelli Ferrari formula classic Series will be have their second and third championship races within the Super Lap Scotland and Japanese Car Show event.
If you have a Ferrari road car, or know of anyone with one, you will get free entry to be parked up in the secure display area. For track time, contact the Ferrari Owners’ Club to book track time.
What will I see?
Off track attractions will feature static displays of exotica from all ages of Ferrari. The latest 2017 Ferrari road cars will be on display from the event sponsor Graypaul Ferrari Edinburgh, allowing them to showcase their newest models. The Ferrari race cars will be exhibited in the pit lane garages. There will be some very special competition Ferraris scheduled to come including a Cliff Alison Dino 246 Formula One car and a p4 GT sports car. On track, Ferrari owners will display the performance characteristics of their cars to the full in track day sessions, driven hard as they should be away from the restrictions of the road. Allowing fans to appreciate the noise and spectacle of the exotic machinery and capture exceptional photo opportunities.
