Here we have a very rare limited edition Sea Hawk 11-USA 71 that was made to celebrate the partnership between BMW Oracle Racing and Girard-Perregeaux for their assault on the America’s Cup sailing race.
This is a version of the watch worn by the team and is one of only 500 made in 2007. The 32nd America’s Cup raceway was held in Valencia.
The carbon fibre dial bears the words “challenger of Record” as it was the official title of BMW oracle Racing Team in its capacity as representative for the challengers in defining the rules of the America’s Cup
The number on the dial are inspired by the numbers used on the sails to identify America’s Cup boats.
The back of the watch is engraved with a technical drawing of the America USA 71 class boat along with watch individual number.
As a divers watch it is water resistant to 300 metres. Powering the watch is an automatic GP 3000 movement with a useful 46 hour power reserve which can beset via a display on the dial.
The case size is 42mm and it is made in stainless steel with a rubber strap and deployant clasp.
It comes with a GP signed certificate showing it is no. 319/500
